We are proud to represent the Automotive Retailers Association of BC and the Automotive Industries Association of Canada to complete independent accreditation certification audits on collision repair facilities in BC. They are the Certified Collision Repair (ARA) and the Certified Collision Industry Accreditation Programs (AIA).

Rick Setter

Owner & Founder

 

 

Rick founded Crash Space Appraisals Ltd. having 30 plus years experience in the automotive industry, including 20 years at the Insurance Corporation of British Columbia (ICBC). An expert in the area of material damage field he held several portfolios in Material Damage policy and planning, responsible for the Material Damage Manual. He chaired the ICBC Technical Committee, and a member of the Audatex Technical Advisory Council of North America. Rick led several successful key insurance initiatives and industry agreement implementations including the ICBC CRIA III performance management program, the NVR+ replacement cost policy and the implementation of HST in BC.

In addition, using his skills as an insurance estimating auditor he was called upon as a lead manager/auditor in several sensitive internal and external claims reviews at ICBC regarding MDR&T branding of vehicles, ICBC shop and staff collusion payments. He also held positions including Senior Business Advisor to the Claims Division, Manager of Accreditation Programs and Claims Centre Material Damage Estimating Services.

His reputation within the collision repair industry is one of an individual that understands the challenges and needs of the automotive, insurance and collision repair industries. He has the insight to ensure that projects, initiatives or policy changes are implemented on time, on budget by identifying risks and solutions that impact cost, productivity or customer service levels. His understanding of how insurance products, customers and claims processes are intertwined ensures a successful outcome whether it be estimating a claim or finding solutions to policy or procedural issues or insurance cost trending.

 

Kaitlyn Erickson

Manager, Salvage & Social Media Operations

 

 

Kaitlyn comes on board with Crash Space Appraisals Ltd., bringing over 15 years of administrative experience from a range of different industries. Her past work experience includes working at ICBC as an Office Assistant, customer service supervisor at Oldcastle Building Envelope and office manager at Beck Glass.

Lorraine Setter

Audit & Claim Administrative Assistant

 

 

Lorraine joined the team at Crash Space in early 2019. She has an extensive background in administration, most recently with MNP LLP in South Surrey as the Executive Assistant to the Cross Border/International Tax department.

She brings many valuable years of administrative skills to the company. Lorraine is heading up the Accounting department, as well as working with Rick in the Accreditation Audit and Claims administration.
